A carer in Wales has been sentenced to 11 months in jail after being found guilty of shouting at a disabled man, poking him, and laughing as he urinated on the floor. Enow Tambe, 33, was one of two carers responsible for looking after the vulnerable man. The victim, aged 60, had learning difficulties and was registered blind, requiring round-the-clock care in supported accommodation provided by Manchester City Council.
The abuse came to light when the man’s sister became concerned about his treatment and installed CCTV cameras in the flat. The footage captured Tambe shouting in the man’s face, threatening to shave his head, poking him repeatedly, and laughing at him as he urinated on the floor. Tambe pleaded guilty to charges of ill-treatment of the individual and was sentenced at Manchester Crown Court.
