Sting announces huge Welsh date for 2025 world tour

Sting, the seventeen-time GRAMMY Award-winning artist, has revealed plans to include Cardiff in his upcoming “STING 3.0” world tour. The iconic rock star, known for hits like “Every Breath You Take,” will be performing at Cardiff Castle on Saturday, June 28, 2025. This announcement follows his successful tour launch in Europe and North America this summer.

Cardiff Castle has been chosen as the venue for Sting’s performance, marking his return to the castle after a sold-out show in 2023. The upcoming concert is part of the TK Maxx presents DEPOT Live series, with Sting being the first headline artist announced for the 2025 lineup. Tickets for the event will go on general sale on Friday, September 27 at 9 am.

DEPOT Live’s Nick Saunders expressed excitement about welcoming Sting back to Cardiff Castle for what promises to be an unforgettable performance. Cuffe and Taylor promoter Julian Murray also shared his enthusiasm for the collaboration, highlighting the opportunity to bring world-class acts to this beautiful venue.

Accompanied by his long-time collaborator Dominic Miller on guitar and drummer Chris Maas, known for his work with Mumford & Sons and Maggie Rogers, Sting’s band is set to deliver a mix of his classic hits and rare tracks. Members of Sting’s Fan Club will have access to a special pre-sale on Wednesday, while the Depot Live pre-sale begins on Thursday.

In addition to Sting’s performance, Cardiff Castle has hosted a series of successful shows, including acts like Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and Avril Lavigne in 2024. The venue continues to attract music lovers and promises an exciting lineup for the upcoming year.
