By midday, parts of Llantwit Major and Merthyr Tydfil will still be affected by 4-8mm of rainfall per hour, although the downpours are expected to become lighter. As the afternoon progresses, the rainfall is forecasted to decrease to 2-4mm per hour by 2pm.
During the school run at 3.30pm, areas of Newport and Chepstow are likely to experience 4-8mm of rainfall per hour. By 5pm, west Wales will start to see lighter rain outbreaks, while areas to the north may receive 0.5-1mm of rainfall per hour.
As the evening progresses, the country can expect even lighter rainfall, with most areas experiencing 0.5-1mm of rainfall per hour by 7pm. By 9pm, Monmouth and Abergavenny are expected to be the most affected regions, with downpours of 0.5-1mm per hour.
