The mum of missing man, Jack O’Sullivan, has hired a specialist dog search team as she remains convinced her son is still alive. Catherine O’Sullivan expressed frustration with the police investigation into her son’s disappearance, believing they have focused too much on the theory that he fell into the water. Jack, 23, went missing on March 2 near Brunel Lock Road/Brunel Way in Bristol.
Mrs. O’Sullivan highlighted that despite divers retrieving items from the water, nothing belonging to Jack has been found. She took matters into her own hands by hiring a specialist dog team to aid in the search effort. Sharing her belief that Jack may have gotten into a car, she continues to tirelessly search for her son, reflecting on CCTV footage that was initially missed by the police.
The family’s search efforts have extended beyond Bristol, with plans to retrace Jack’s last known location and explore new areas of interest, including the involvement of a specialist search team. Mrs. O’Sullivan has also lodged a formal complaint with the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) regarding the police investigation.
Avon and Somerset Police have stated their commitment to finding Jack, engaging in extensive search activities including reviewing CCTV footage, land searches, and drone deployments. Assistant Chief Constable Joanne Hall noted the challenges faced in investigations of this nature and assured continued efforts to locate Jack, acknowledging the impact on his family.
