The tickets were advertised to include a carriage ride, a professional dance lesson, dinner, and the opportunity to be the diamond of the ball. However, the event on September 22, 2024, did not meet expectations.
According to Ashlyn, the venue seemed promising from the outside but fell short inside. Attendees were served raw chicken, faced cold food, and witnessed a pole dancer performance instead of an elegant ball. Ashlyn described the decorations as cheap and the food service chaotic, with guests struggling to obtain a meal. Many left early, with some even heading to a nearby bar out of frustration.
As a devoted Bridgerton fan, Ashlyn felt let down by the event, which was meant to be a birthday celebration. She, along with her friend Hannah, travelled an hour to Detroit for the ball, only to encounter disappointing decor and inadequate food service. Ashlyn shared that the experience was a “total disaster” that left her feeling cheated by the organisers.
In response to the backlash, event organisers, Uncle & Me LLC, issued an apology, acknowledging the shortcomings of the event. The company expressed regret over the organisational challenges that affected guests’ enjoyment and promised to address all concerns raised. They assured that resolution options would be communicated soon.
Despite the event’s failings, Ashlyn noted that many attendees were dressed beautifully, highlighting the effort put into their costumes.
