Mum-of-five dies from liquid Brazilian butt lift procedure

A mum-of-five tragically became the first person in Britain to die following a liquid Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedure. Alice Delsie Preete Webb, 33, a devoted mother and beauty therapist, passed away after undergoing the treatment, which involved injections of hyaluronic acid and dermal fillers into the buttocks. The procedure, priced around £2,500, is typically promoted as a fast and affordable alternative to traditional surgery. Alice’s case raised concerns as the treatment was allegedly administered by an unqualified individual without medical training.

Gloucestershire Police are investigating Alice’s sudden death and have arrested two individuals in connection with the case. Abi Irwin, a close friend, remembered Alice as a “beautiful person inside and out” and highlighted her love for her family. Dane Knight, Alice’s partner, expressed gratitude for the support received for their children during this challenging time. Alice is survived by Dane and their five daughters.

The tragedy adds to a growing number of incidents involving complications from BBL treatments in the UK. Ashton Collins of Save Face condemned the promotion of liquid BBLs as safe and affordable, emphasising the risks involved. These procedures have led to severe complications in a significant number of cases, with a high percentage of patients finding their practitioners through social media platforms.

Alice’s death marks another grim outcome from BBL procedures in the UK, following a similar fatality in 2019. The dangers associated with both surgical and non-surgical BBLs have led to increased scrutiny and calls for government intervention to regulate these treatments. The police are treating Alice’s death as suspicious, and investigations are ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.

The incident serves as a sobering reminder of the potential risks involved in cosmetic procedures and the importance of seeking qualified professionals for such treatments. As the investigation continues, Alice’s family and friends mourn the loss of a beloved mother and partner, highlighting the devastating impact of unsafe cosmetic practices.

The news of Alice’s death has sparked widespread concern and calls for tighter regulations in the cosmetic industry to prevent such tragedies from reoccurring. Authorities are working to address the circumstances surrounding the incident as the community grieves the loss of a cherished member.
