A van caught fire on a residential street in Drefach, Carmarthenshire, creating a dramatic scene. The incident occurred on Heol Caegwyn on Sunday afternoon, prompting a swift response from fire crews. Upon arrival just after 2pm, firefighters from Tumble and Pont-iets Fire Stations found the white van engulfed in flames. The Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson reported that crews used various equipment, including breathing apparatus, hose reel jets, thermal imaging cameras, and cutters and spreaders to extinguish the fire. By 2.59pm, the crews had successfully controlled the blaze and left the scene.
In addition to this van fire, fire crews also tackled a bus fire on the A470 near Libanus over the weekend. The bus was seen ablaze in the early hours of Sunday, leading to the closure of the A470 for several hours on Monday for emergency repair work on the road surface.
