Passengers on a Ryanair flight experienced a significant delay after the plane’s tyres burst upon landing. The incident occurred at Milan Bergamo Airport, where witnesses reported that another pilot referred to it as a result of a “bad landing,” which not only damaged the tyres but also the runway. One passenger, Alice Longhurst, who was set to travel from Milan to Dubrovnik, described the scene as her pilot informed them of the tyre burst on the plane ahead, emitting a strong burning smell of rubber.
According to Alice, the pilot shared that the incident was caused by a bad landing, leading to all tyres being burst and one wheel bending under the plane. Passengers could smell burning rubber inside the aircraft, creating a tense atmosphere before they were eventually instructed to disembark. Alice, a marketing consultant from London, recalled the experience as frightening, especially with visible flames following the tyre burst.
As a result of the tyre issue, passengers were informed of a six-hour delay, waiting at Bergamo airport for updates. A Ryanair spokesperson confirmed the incident, stating that engineers were inspecting the aircraft to facilitate its return to service.
