Amazon has made a significant investment of £550 million in increased pay for its operations employees in the UK since 2022, resulting in a 35% rise in the hourly rate within two years. In Swansea, Amazon currently employs 1,400 staff, with an additional 600 positions at delivery stations in Newport, Port Talbot, and Deeside. Last month, the company announced a 9.8% increase in the starting pay for frontline operation workers, raising the starting wage to £28,080 a year in Wales.
