A 19-year-old has been hospitalised with serious injuries after an alleged hit and run incident in Newport. Gwent Police are appealing for witnesses following the event that occurred on Monday, September 30. The collision involved a car, identified as a BMW 1 series, and a pedestrian, the 19-year-old victim, along Cardiff Road in Newport around 7.45pm. The driver of the vehicle reportedly fled the scene following the collision, prompting a police investigation.
Authorities have since arrested a 29-year-old man on suspicion of multiple driving offences in connection with the incident.
