A mum from Hatfield has made an incredible transformation by losing 168 lbs and becoming a pro bikini athlete. Claire Bierton, 36, had reached her heaviest weight of 280 lbs, facing challenges with anxiety, depression, stomach issues, and joint pain. She reflected on how her weight gain started after having children, impacting her ability to engage in activities with her kids and leading to significant health concerns.
Claire admitted to having unhealthy eating habits, including consuming three takeaway meals a week and snacking late at night with unhealthy food choices. She also highlighted the emotional toll of being in a difficult relationship where hurtful comments about her weight contributed to her emotional eating. Despite trying various weight loss programmes without success, Claire felt an urgent need to change her lifestyle for her children and herself.
During the second COVID-19 lockdown, Claire took charge of her life by tracking her calories using the MyFitnessPal app, incorporating exercise into her routine, and adopting a healthier lifestyle. Her dedication paid off as she shed an impressive 168 lbs in under a year, surprising many who encountered her post-transformation. Discovering bikini competitions on social media, Claire set new goals for herself, entering and excelling in competitions in the FMC Transformation category.
For Claire, bodybuilding not only transformed her physically but also provided her with mental strength and purpose. Her journey has motivated her to help others achieve their fitness goals. She started an online coaching course focusing on personalised diet and training plans, drawing from her own experiences to support her clients effectively.
Looking ahead, Claire is preparing for her ninth bikini competition, demonstrating her commitment to maintaining her new lifestyle. She shares valuable advice for individuals looking to embark on a weight loss journey, emphasising finding motivation, seeking support from like-minded individuals, and persevering through moments of low motivation. Claire’s story serves as an inspirational example of determination and transformation, showcasing the profound impact of prioritising health and well-being.
