Although there is talk of the aftermath of Hurricane Kirk potentially affecting the weather next week, Cardiff looks to be cloudy with a chance of light rain or a shower. Meteorologist Derek Brockway elaborated, stating, “Taking part in the Cardiff half marathon on Sunday? Mostly cloudy. Chance of light rain or a shower. Heavier rain arriving during the afternoon. Light winds. 14C rising to 17C.”
In other parts of Wales, the weather is forecasted to feel humid on race day, with rain clearing eastwards in the morning, later giving way to heavy showers. The upcoming week will remain unsettled, with a mix of sunshine and showers, at times possibly heavy and thundery. A significant turnout of 27,500 participants and numerous spectators are expected in Cardiff on October 6 for Wales’ largest mass-participation event. Road closures will be in place from October 2 to October 7 to facilitate the setup and dismantling of the race village at the Civic Centre. During the event on Sunday, the bus gate in Westgate Street will be suspended from 8.30am to 3.10pm.
