Police in Bridgend paid a touching tribute to Jonathan Edwards, a special constable who dedicated nearly 30 years of unpaid service to South Wales Police. Jonathan, who reached the rank of inspector, tragically passed away after falling ill at a policing event in Cardiff Bay. His funeral procession on October 4 saw hundreds of officers lining the route to Coychurch Crematorium. A police escort led the procession, with mounted officers and standard bearers showing their respects to the devoted father-of-four.
Chief Constable Jeremy Vaughan delivered a heartfelt eulogy, portraying Jonathan as a cherished family man and a trailblazer for the force. Colleagues fondly described him as honest, trustworthy, and always wearing a smile.
