Caleb McDuff, a 16-year-old from Pontypool, is making waves as the UK’s only male deaf racing driver. Despite facing challenges with his hearing, Caleb has shown remarkable skill and determination on the track, winning races and continuing to set his sights on even more success. Caleb’s journey into racing began at a young age when his father, Ian Mcduff, introduced him to go-karting. From there, his passion for motorsport grew, leading him to excel in go-karting events before transitioning to racing cars.
Thanks to his cochlear implants, Caleb is able to pursue his racing dreams, defying the odds and demonstrating that anything is possible. He is a member of Team BRIT, a competitive team of all-disabled racing drivers, where he competes alongside teammate Asha Silva in a BMW M240i. The team has developed technology to help Caleb communicate effectively during races, ensuring he can fully participate in the high-speed action on the track.
Caleb’s recent success at the Snetterton Circuit in Norfolk showcased his talent and determination, with podium finishes in both races he competed in.
