Brits abroad warned to stay away from one area of Benidorm

Brits in Spain Cautioned to Avoid Troublesome Benidorm Area

Brits holidaying in Benidorm have been advised to steer clear of a specific zone in the popular resort, as per a local expert’s warning. Known as a hotspot for British tourists drawn to its sunny beaches and affordable drinks, Benidorm has now been singled out for concerns regarding a notorious area known for muggings.

Party organiser Frank, also recognised as @frankthestagman on TikTok, raised awareness about this issue in a recent video, guiding his followers on a tour of the problematic location. Passing by landmarks like the indoor market and Mariano’s, a 24-hour food spot, he specifically highlighted the area opposite the Flash Hotel.

Frank underlined, “Just before we hit the strip, there’s a little police building. I’m going to show you here with a little playground next to it.” He emphasised that this particular spot is well-known for pickpocketing incidents. Echoing his caution, his colleague added, “Ironically, it’s also where they tell you, if you have an incident as an English person, such as a robbery, you have to go and report it there.”

While typically lauding Benidorm for its accommodation, nightlife, and providing weather updates to potential visitors, Frank ensures to inform travellers about the risks that could hinder their trips. The Daily Record reported that his platform serves not only to promote the destination but also to remind tourists of the importance of staying vigilant against crime, ensuring they enjoy their holiday without any setbacks.

The video quickly garnered hundreds of views online, prompting numerous responses from viewers who shared their own encounters with criminal activities in the same area. A viewer recounted their experience, stating, “Got mugged there two weeks ago – watch, phone and wallet. Police found my wallet the day after, but bank cards gone. Just hotel key and driving licence left.”

Another individual shared, “I had my travel wallet stolen as I helped my mum get off the coach. Only just arrived. Lost all my money, passport, tickets. There was a queue of people all in the police station – all been pickpocketed.” However, one person expressed a different perspective, saying, “It really scares me, but I came out as a solo female and have zero issues. Was also in your bar. Lovely place – I will be back.”
