Missing mum’s belongings found next to river as CCTV image released
North Yorkshire Police have discovered personal possessions belonging to Victoria Taylor, a missing mother from Malton. Victoria, 34, disappeared from her home on September 30, and CCTV footage shows her walking towards a play park near the River Derwent. Police have carried out extensive searches using officers, drones, divers, and specialist sonar equipment.
Chief Superintendent Fiona Willey stated that there is a significant possibility that Victoria entered the river. The search team is utilising specialist sonar equipment to scan below the surface and drones to search surrounding rural areas. Victoria’s family is experiencing immense distress following her disappearance, with no indication of third-party involvement in her vanishing.
Witnesses saw Victoria at various locations on the day of her disappearance, including a BP garage where she purchased items and Malton bus station. Additional CCTV footage shows her heading towards the play park where her belongings were found. The community has shown support for the family, with local businesses displaying posters urging people to come forward with any information.
Victoria’s sisters, Emma and Heidi, have expressed their concern and are focusing on supporting the family during this difficult time. Descriptions of Victoria’s appearance and attire have been shared to aid in locating her. Searches continue in and around the River Derwent, while police appeal to the public for any information on Victoria’s whereabouts.
