Detective-turned-TV investigator Mark Williams-Thomas, who has been looking into the death of teenager Jay Slater, has hinted that there could be an update soon. Williams-Thomas, who personally met with Jay’s family in Tenerife during his disappearance in June, has shared a new video on social media suggesting that he has been continuing his investigations behind the scenes.
Apprentice bricklayer Jay was on holiday in Tenerife when he went missing on June 17. His remains were found nearly a month later on July 15, close to where he was last seen. The initial autopsy indicated that his death was likely due to a fall from a height, with severe injuries reported.
Despite some closure from these findings, questions remain about why Jay was alone and what led to his disappearance. In the recent video, Williams-Thomas mentioned that there is more information about Jay’s movements before he vanished that has yet to be disclosed. He indicated that there were discrepancies in the information initially received, which needed validation.
Williams-Thomas highlighted that he had access to Jay’s family, mobile phone records, and friends as part of his investigations. He mentioned that there are undisclosed details about issues that existed and why Jay left as he did, which may be released at a more suitable time in the future.
The detective emphasised the need to handle the situation delicately to avoid causing further distress to Jay’s family, particularly his mother, who has already experienced immense trauma. Williams-Thomas stressed that he had always considered Jay’s death a tragic accident, despite various conspiracy theories surrounding the case.
In the video update, Williams-Thomas reiterated his close relationship with Jay’s family and the importance of maintaining their trust. He expressed his readiness to reveal additional information when appropriate, collaborating closely with Jay’s family.
As the investigation into Jay Slater’s death continues, the promise of potentially uncovering new details sheds light on the ongoing efforts to seek clarity and closure for those affected by this tragic event.
