Beloved Britain’s Got Talent Star Will Read Passes Away After Cancer Battle
Will Read, a popular Britain’s Got Talent star known for his role in the comedy act, The Showbears, has sadly died at the age of 51 after battling cancer. Recognised for his performance in the final alongside David Walliams, Will passed away at his home in Macclesfield on August 7, with his friend and brother by his side, as reported by the Mirror.
The Showbears, famous for their glittering sailor suits during the live semi-final in 2012, gained further fame in the final when they shared the stage with TV comedian David. Following this success, Will went on to tour Europe with Gloria Estefan’s band, showcasing his musical talents widely across the continent.
In an obituary notice, it was stated, “Will aged 51 years of Macclesfield, peacefully passed away on Wednesday 7th August 2024. Dearly loved son of Kate, much-loved brother of Tom, cherished brother-in-law of Marianne and fabulous uncle of Jimmy and Liam.” The notice also highlighted Will’s musical accomplishments, mentioning his proficiency in percussion, drums, and vocals, as well as his successful career as a musical director.
Describing his touring experiences with Gloria Estefan and cruise ship performances, the notice expressed that Will would be deeply missed by his family, friends, and colleagues.
