Ted Baker makes announcement about future after closing UK stores

Ted Baker, the well-known British clothing brand, is set to relaunch its online business in the UK later this year following the closure of its high street stores. Last week, Ted Baker shut its 31 remaining stores in the UK and Ireland after the collapse of No Ordinary Designer Label Limited (NODL), the company running its UK operations. Established by Ray Kelvin in 1988 in Glasgow, Ted Baker is famous for its distinctive patterns and florals.

The brand’s US owner, Authentic Brand Group, has secured a partnership with United Legwear & Apparel Co to manage Ted Baker’s e-commerce operations in the UK and Europe. United Legwear will also oversee Ted Baker’s wholesale, concession shops, and e-commerce in the US and Canada, as well as the men’s sportswear, golf apparel, and denim businesses. Jarrod Weber of Authentic expressed satisfaction with the partnership and highlighted the value consumers place on Ted Baker’s British style.

Chris Volpe, COO of United Legwear, emphasized the brand’s quality, design, and individuality, aiming to provide customers with an exceptional online shopping experience. Both companies are enthusiastic about relaunching Ted Baker’s e-commerce platform in the brand’s home country and expanding its online presence. The move signifies a new chapter for Ted Baker as it adapts to changing retail landscapes and continues to engage with its loyal customer base.
