Queen Camilla has provided an update on the King’s cancer treatment, stating that he is “doing very well.” During the opening of a new cancer centre at Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust, Camilla was asked about the progress of King Charles, who has been undergoing treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer since early February.
The King has been receiving outpatient care, while the Princess of Wales has been undergoing chemotherapy following her own cancer diagnosis. The Queen visited the new Dyson Cancer Centre, which consolidates most of the trust’s cancer services under one roof, where up to 300 patients can be treated daily.
During her visit, the Queen interacted with hospital staff and patients in the Macmillan Wellbeing Hub, a space where families and carers receive both practical and emotional support. Suzie Moon from the charity mentioned the King’s treatment to Camilla, asking, “Is he OK?” to which the Queen responded, “Yes, he’s doing very well.”
The update on the King’s health comes amidst ongoing care and treatment for both King Charles and the Princess of Wales. The new Dyson Cancer Centre aims to provide comprehensive care for cancer patients in a centralised and supportive environment.
