A woman carried out a “campaign of harassment” against a former friend and threatened to pour bleach down her throat. Kayleigh Davies, 30, made the threat after her former friend Samantha Osborne called her a “paedophile.” Davies has a conviction for a historical sex offence. The court heard that Davies sent three threatening voice notes to Ms Osborne and shouted abuse at her on several occasions in Pensarn between January and May this year.
Prosecutor Rebecca Kuipers said in one message, received on January 21, Davies tells Ms Osborne “Fight me, you fat c***.” Another message was abusive and threatening as Davies said she wanted to tie up Ms Osborne and “pour bleach down her throat”, said the prosecutor. Davies and Ms Osborne had been friends but fell out, according to Simon Sargent, defending Davies. Mr. Sargent said Davies did not handle the situation well; she lost her composure and became emotional. He added that she apologises for her behaviour.
Davies admitted harassment by putting Ms Osborne in fear of violence. At Llandudno Magistrates Court, a judge gave her a 12-week jail term, suspended for 12 months. Deputy District Judge Paul Conlon stated that she had conducted a “campaign of harassment” over several months against Ms Osborne, severely impacting her victim. The suspended jail term was imposed along with an order for Davies to attend 15 days of rehabilitation activity.
Furthermore, Davies was made the subject of a 12-month restraining order prohibiting her from contacting her victim in person or online, or going to her home. She must pay a £154 surcharge and £85 prosecution costs. The court emphasised the seriousness of Davies’ actions in the “campaign of harassment” against her former friend. The judge’s decision aims to address the impact of Davies’ behaviour and prevent further harm to the victim.
