Abandoned Baby Elsa: Court Hears Details of Newborn and Siblings Dumped in Street
Baby Elsa, a newborn girl found abandoned in freezing temperatures in London, is reportedly “doing very well” as authorities continue to search for her parents. Elsa, named after the icy conditions she was discovered in, is one of three siblings abandoned in the same London area over a seven-year period.
A court in East London heard details of Baby Elsa and her siblings, Baby Roman and Baby Harry, who were also found in the same area in 2019 and 2017, respectively. Both siblings have since been adopted, but the parents of the infants remain unidentified.
Elsa was found in a shopping bag in East Ham less than an hour after her birth on January 18 this year. Despite progress in Elsa’s well-being, authorities are still unable to trace her parents. Barrister Kate Claxton informed the court that there are no current leads regarding Elsa’s parents, and the investigation continues.
Elsa’s sister, Roman, was discovered in a similar circumstance in 2019, while baby Harry was found wrapped in a white blanket in 2017. Despite DNA testing establishing a link between the siblings, the parents remain unknown. Police are seeking information from a woman seen in the area before Elsa’s discovery, wearing distinctive clothing and carrying a rucksack.
A further hearing in Baby Elsa’s case was scheduled as the investigation remains ongoing, preventing a final decision on her future. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact the police referencing CAD 6876/18 Jan.
