A bride-to-be was left seriously injured in Paris while on her hen do after a nightclub blast caused a wall to collapse. Ffion Price-Dunne, a 28-year-old nurse from Brynmawr in Blaenau Gwent, spent two weeks in a hospital in Paris recovering from the incident. Described as a life-changing experience just weeks before her wedding to her partner of nine years, Christian, Ffion suffered lacerations to her head, facial injuries, a brain bleed, skull fracture, and ear fracture.
Recounting the traumatic event, Ffion recalled waking up in a pool of blood after an electric battery exploded in the nightclub they were in, leading to the collapse of walls and the ceiling. Despite the injuries, Ffion managed to walk down the aisle to marry Christian at Fairyhill in Gower. The incident occurred when an e-scooter battery exploded on the fourth floor of the building, causing a section of the wall to collapse, affecting guests on the ground floor where the nightclub was located.
Ffion’s mother, Sarah Price, who was nearby when the blast occurred, rushed to the scene after receiving a distressing call about her daughter. Ffion was swiftly taken to the hospital and received intensive care for her injuries. She was discharged two weeks later and returned to the UK, unable to fly due to her condition. Ffion’s recovery journey has been challenging, with continued dizziness and physical weakness, although she has made progress in healing from her injuries.
Despite the ordeal, Ffion and Christian decided to proceed with their wedding plans, celebrating their special day surrounded by loved ones. Ffion expressed gratitude for the support she has received and highlighted the impact the incident has had on her outlook on life. A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to aid in her recovery, surpassing its fundraising target. Ffion’s resilience and determination reflect her positive spirit as she continues to navigate the aftermath of the tragic event.
