A mum has received a heartbreaking terminal cancer diagnosis following a devastating screening. Kellie Haury, 38, has been bravely battling breast cancer since her initial diagnosis in April 2020. Despite facing challenges such as being allergic to chemotherapy, Kellie’s treatment initially put her into remission, allowing her to return to work at a local pharmacy and enjoy precious moments with her husband and two sons. Unfortunately, the cancer resurfaced, spreading to Kellie’s chest wall, lymph nodes, spine, and brain. With six tumours in her brain, Kellie has been informed that her cancer is now terminal.
Upon receiving the devastating news, Kellie’s close friend, Lynsey Bate, shared that Kellie was in a state of shock and is currently struggling with pain and mobility issues. Due to her condition, Kellie is unable to drive, adding to her challenges. Lynsey, determined to support her friend, has organised fundraising efforts, including an event at a local inn with a raffle and live music, as well as a GoFundMe page to assist Kellie in enjoying her remaining time with her family without financial worries.
Throughout this difficult journey, Lynsey emphasised Kellie’s strength and resilience, highlighting her friend’s hard work and independence. Reflecting on Kellie’s situation, Lynsey expressed the importance of ensuring Kellie can focus on spending quality time with her loved ones without the added stress of financial constraints. By rallying the community for support, Lynsey hopes to ease Kellie’s burden and enable her to cherish precious moments with her family during this challenging time.
