A man in Bridgend, Karol Jaworski, recently made headlines for his staggering response after causing chaos on the train tracks and for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl. Jaworski, 40, admitted to smacking the girl’s bottom in a store earlier this year. The victim reported feeling anxious about returning to the town center since the incident.
In another shocking incident, on February 21 this year, Jaworski was reported to have walked along the train tracks from Briton Ferry railway station towards Port Talbot Parkway, causing significant delays. The British Transport Police had to hold and stop trains for 56 minutes due to Jaworski’s actions, resulting in £30,000 worth of delays for National Rail.
During his arrest, Jaworski defended his actions by saying he frequently walked on railway tracks in Poland and saw no issue with his behaviour. He pleaded guilty to sexual assault and obstructing a train carriage. The court learned that Jaworski had previous convictions in the UK and in Poland for drug-related offenses.
In the sentencing at Cardiff Crown Court, Judge Jeremy Jenkins condemned Jaworski’s actions, stating that such behavior towards a young schoolgirl was unacceptable. Jaworski received a 16-month prison sentence, along with a restraining order and sex offender notification requirements.
