Those who qualify are likely to receive the discount automatically. In some cases, the discount may apply to the gas bill instead if the supplier provides both gas and electricity and the household meets the criteria. To qualify for the £150 energy bill reduction, residents in England and Wales must either receive the guarantee credit element of pension credit or be on a low income with high energy costs. Various energy suppliers are part of the scheme, including 100Green, Affect Energy, British Gas, Bulb Energy, and more. If your electricity supplier ceases trading, Ofgem will appoint a new supplier for you to ensure you can still benefit from the warm home discount.
