Traitors star Andrew Jenkins, a Talbot Green-born contestant who reached the final of the BBC reality show, is embarking on an extraordinary challenge to support a charity dear to his heart. Jenkins, 46, gained recognition on The Traitors and has since been advocating for mental health awareness. He is now raising funds for Headway, a charity aiding brain injury survivors.
At 21, Jenkins was in a serious car accident that left him in a coma for four weeks with severe brain injuries. Despite doctors’ bleak prognosis, he defied the odds and recovered, though he continues to grapple with both physical and emotional scars from the incident. Jenkins believes that sharing his story can inspire and save lives, motivating his charitable efforts.
To raise money for Headway, Jenkins is embarking on a 1200km trek, equivalent to 28 marathons, over 42 days. Starting at Andross Castle in Scotland, the same location used for filming The Traitors, he aims to conclude his journey at Cardiff Castle in November. Alongside fundraising, Jenkins intends to raise mental health awareness, particularly for men, through talks during his trek.
Expressing gratitude for his second chance at life, Jenkins wants to encourage individuals facing challenges to persevere and believe in themselves. He hopes to convey that with determination, any goal is achievable.
