Martyn Price’s life took an unexpected turn when he was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia in 2019. At just 66 years old, he was given a dire prognosis of one to two years to live, with his only hope being a stem cell transplant. Unfortunately, none of Martyn’s siblings were a match, leading him on a journey to find a compatible stranger who could save his life.
Before receiving the transplant, Martyn endured gruelling rounds of chemotherapy to prepare his body. It was a moment of joy and relief when a match was finally found, all the way from Sweden.
