Emergency services were called to a crash at Llandough Hospital in the Vale of Glamorgan on Thursday after a bus collided with parked cars, causing significant damage. The incident unfolded in the afternoon, resulting in two cars being pushed over a ledge by the impact of the bus. Despite the severity of the crash, fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Workers from Walls Truck Services arrived at the scene to assist in pulling the bus back from over the ledge, using ropes to secure it. Images from the site captured the bus stuck between the car park and a nearby multi-storey building, with the damaged cars piled beneath it. South Wales Police confirmed that several stationary cars were involved in the collision and stated that investigations into the circumstances were underway.
A spokesperson for South Wales Fire and Rescue Service detailed their response to the incident, noting that crews set up a cordon and helped make the area safe. Similarly, the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board assured that efforts were being made to remove the damaged vehicles and assess the safety of the car park. They commended the professionalism of staff at the hospital, alongside the swift responses of emergency services.
