Teenage tennis player scores incredible GCSE results after studying online while training for 20 hours a week

A teenage tennis player has achieved exceptional results in her GCSE exams while also training for over 20 hours a week. Sixteen-year-old Elizabeth Evans, a junior international tennis player from Port Talbot, secured seven 9 (A**) grades and one 7(A) grade in her exams. Elizabeth, who competes globally for tennis tournaments, studied online at King’s InterHigh to balance her academic commitments with her sports career.

Having transitioned to online schooling two years ago, Elizabeth managed to maintain a balance between her studies and sport. She expressed the challenges of managing a busy schedule but highlighted the benefits of online learning in allowing her to pursue her passion for tennis and travel for competitions. Elizabeth shared her determination to excel in both academics and sports, emphasising the convenience and effectiveness of online schooling.

Aside from her academic success, Elizabeth has clinched four Junior International (ITF) tennis titles and one Women’s British Tour title this year. Looking forward, she aspires to pursue a professional tennis career and aims to secure a tennis scholarship at an American university, with Harvard being her dream choice. Elizabeth also expressed an interest in exploring other career paths post-university, such as law or finance.
