An iconic Welsh nightclub, ATIK in Wrexham, has been put up for sale for £450,000. The nightclub, previously touted as the largest in North Wales, shut down earlier in the year due to financial strains caused by the cost-of-living crisis affecting the younger demographic and rising operational costs. The closure resulted in staff redundancies and marked what was described as the “end of an era.”
After its owner, Rekom UK, went into administration and surrendered the lease, the venue is now listed for sale with Christie and Co. The property boasts a prime location on Brook Street and is said to be suitable for late-night hospitality or alternative uses subject to planning permissions. The sale includes all fixtures and fittings except items belonging to third parties or the current owners.
Christie and Co also revealed that the property is being offered with immediate vacant possession and is on a long leasehold of 999 years from October 2006, with a minimal rent. The nightclub’s listing presents a unique opportunity for potential buyers to acquire a significant establishment in the city centre’s licensed and late-night circuit.
