A baby in a pram was struck by a missile in Caernarfon, Wales. The incident occurred amidst reports of youths as young as nine behaving disruptively in the town centre. Fortunately, the baby was not injured; however, an officer highlighted the potential severity of the situation, cautioning that the outcome could have been much worse. Police have identified fourteen youths they wish to speak to in connection with the incident. They are urging parents to have conversations with their children about responsible behaviour.
The North Wales Police Gwynedd North released a statement expressing concern over the behaviour in Caernarfon, noting its negative impact on residents and the increased risk to community members. PC Jordan Jones emphasised the importance of parents and carers supporting law enforcement efforts by discussing the potential consequences of antisocial behaviour with their children. While criminalising young people is a last resort, continued escalation of incidents may necessitate formal action.
Officers intend to visit the homes of the identified young individuals, aged between 9-15 years, to engage with their families and collaborate with other agencies. The plea extends to the public for any information or footage of antisocial behaviour on the A4085 near Segontium. Police have advised anyone with relevant details to come forward either through their website, by phone, or anonymously via Crimestoppers. The goal is to ensure the safety and well-being of the community.
