A botched facelift that left a mum’s face resembling a balloon has resulted in her postponing her wedding. Katie Lowden, 34, opted for a facelift using dermal fillers and Botox in July 2022 to boost her confidence. Following lip fillers at the same clinic without issues, Katie proceeded with the procedure. However, complications arose post-surgery, with granulomas appearing on her face, suspected to be due to unsuitable fillers for certain facial areas. Despite efforts by the clinic to dissolve the fillers, Katie’s condition deteriorated, leading to constant swelling and unrecognisable facial changes, causing her to postpone her wedding and be prescribed antidepressants.
In December 2022, a hard lump on her neck triggered cancer fears, which were later ruled out. The lump was identified as migrated filler resulting from the failed attempts to dissolve it. Seeking corrective treatments, she turned to the Revere Clinic in London, undergoing procedures to reverse the damage since August 2024. Katie, living in Essex with her family, expressed her desire to return to her pre-facelift appearance and regain confidence. The experience compelled her to cancel her wedding, planned for April 2025, but with corrective treatments ongoing, she looks forward to rescheduling the event.
