Cardiff Half Marathon 2025 places have sold out in record time, with all general entries snapped up within hours. Run4Wales, the race organisers, confirmed that registration for the event on October 5, 2025, sold out within just 12 hours of becoming available. Following the 2024 event, registration for the 2025 race opened on October 9, and early bird and second release tickets sold out in just over an hour. Soon after, all available general entry places were filled, leaving participation through official charity, international tour operator, or Business Challenge package as the only options.
The 2025 Cardiff Half Marathon marks the event’s 22nd year, and organisers state that this year’s race has seen the quickest selling of spaces ever. Around 29,000 runners participated in the 2024 race, with the event being a member of SuperHalfs, a global series featuring prestigious half marathons in various locations.
Matt Newman, chief executive of Run4Wales, expressed delight at the overwhelming demand for the 2025 event, with all general entries selling out at a rapid pace. For those interested in running for charity, spots are still available to join the lead charity NSPCC by pledging to raise funds. Other charity partners such as Alzheimer’s Society, Cancer Research Wales, and Mind also offer reduced entry fees and other benefits for those raising funds.
In the 2024 event, Patrick Mosin won the men’s race, Miriam Chebet claimed victory in the women’s race, and Dan Nash was the first Welsh runner to finish. With increasing popularity and participation numbers, the Cardiff Half Marathon continues to attract runners from various backgrounds and abilities, solidifying its status as a prominent event in the running community.
