Dad’s Range Rover wrecked after using Manchester Airport’s meet and greet service

A Welsh holidaymaker’s car was left severely damaged after using Manchester Airport’s Meet and Greet service. Ioan Williams, from near Caernarfon, departed for Alicante with his children, leaving his white Range Rover with the service. Upon his return, he discovered his vehicle had been involved in an incident, resulting in significant damage to the driver’s side wheel. With repair costs amounting to £15,800, the car was deemed a write-off. While both the airport and his insurance company are working on the issue, Ioan expressed disappointment at the lack of apology or compensation.

Ioan recounted the events that unfolded, mentioning the initial camera assessment of his undamaged car before his trip. Upon returning to retrieve his keys, he found his friends loading their luggage into their car. When attempting to collect his keys, the system indicated an issue, leading to the revelation of the car’s damage. Despite the insurer’s cooperation, Ioan lamented the loss of his beloved vehicle, purchased for his 40th birthday.

Manchester Airport refunded his parking fee but failed to offer an apology or compensation. Ioan emphasised his reluctance to use the Meet and Greet service again. Manchester Airport confirmed their engagement with the customer and insurance providers, refraining from further comments on the specific case.
