Emergency services in Wales have resumed their search for a person believed to have entered the water near the Menai Suspension Bridge. The search operation restarted on Saturday morning after reports emerged that an individual had gone into the water close to the bridge on Friday morning. Teams from the RNLI, North Wales Police, North Wales Fire and Rescue Service, the Coastguard, and the Aeronautical Rescue Co-Ordination Centre quickly responded to the incident at Menai Strait.
Despite extensive efforts by the emergency services on Friday, the individual could not be located, leading to the suspension of the search operation. However, on Saturday morning, the Coastguard confirmed the continuation of the search. Teams are currently conducting a shoreline search on both sides of the Menai Strait during the low tide period, which occurred around 8am on Saturday.
North Wales Police have reached out to anyone who may have been driving over the Menai Bridge between 9:20 am and 9:45 am on Friday. They are asking for information from those who may have seen someone walking in the area or have relevant dashcam footage.
