The face of a murderer who brutally killed a father of four in a frenzied attack has finally been revealed. Kieran Carter, 23, stabbed Daniel Rae, 30, in the leg at his home in Treforest, Pontypridd. Carter murdered Rae in December last year over a drug debt. Before the fatal attack, Carter had sent threatening messages to Rae for owing him money for drugs, stating, “Bro listen I’m coming now.”
Carter entered Rae’s student house, barging into his bedroom and stabbing him multiple times in the leg and forearm with a knife. Rae was left to bleed to death, and he was later discovered sitting next to a blood-soaked mattress and was pronounced dead at the scene. After the murder, Carter was seen fleeing with a knife in hand, which was disposed of and never found.
Following the incident, Carter sought help from Chad Joy, 33, and Amy Jones, 37, who tended to his injured hand. Grace Dresser, 21, drove Carter to a hospital in Birmingham to seek treatment, unaware of the crime. Carter was arrested at the hospital after his DNA matched blood stains at the crime scene. At Cardiff Crown Court, Carter was sentenced to life imprisonment for murder, while Joy and Jones received sentences for assisting an offender and perverting the course of justice.
