A major search operation has been initiated for a missing man, Owen Hammond, 78, after his vehicle was discovered in a village in Gwynedd. Hammond was last seen driving through the Maentwrog area at around 11.25am on Sunday. His blue Kia Niro was found near Bydwyn, Llanbedr, just off the A496 close to Shell Island. Reports indicate that Hammond, believed to be from the Salford area, may be wearing a white top with dark jeans, and has grey hair and brown eyes.
Chief Inspector Robert Rands from North Wales Police urgently appealed for information regarding Hammond’s disappearance. He stated that multi-agency searches are ongoing in the Llanbedr area following the discovery of Hammond’s car. Individuals who may have seen Hammond or his vehicle after 11.25am on Sunday are encouraged to contact the authorities. Dashcam or other footage of Hammond or his car is also requested to be shared with the police.
