A 22-year-old entrepreneur from Buckinghamshire has turned his passion for selling pre-loved trainers into a thriving business that generates £50,000 per month. Jack Long started his journey at age 12 by selling family members’ unwanted items on eBay and eventually launched his own business, Recycled Streetwear. After working as a warehouse picker to save money, Jack came across a pair of Nike Air Force trainers at a car boot sale in March 2023, which sparked the idea for his business.
Initially selling around 30 trainers per month, Jack now sells around 1,500 trainers monthly through the real-time shopping app Tilt. He puts most of the earnings back into the business to fuel its growth. Jack works tirelessly sourcing, cleaning, and authenticating shoes, often livestreaming the products in the evenings for potential buyers. He aims to become a leading retailer in the pre-loved shoe market and is constantly seeking ways to expand his business.
Despite the success, Jack remains focused on growing his business further and making a positive impact on the environment. He hopes to change the way people shop online and become a prominent retailer for pre-loved shoes in the country. By intercepting shoes before they end up in landfills, refurbishing them, and offering them at affordable prices, Jack aims to create a sustainable business model that benefits both customers and the environment.
