Christopher Moore, a 39-year-old man from Cardiff, sent alarming voice messages to his partner’s mother, threatening to stab his partner in the throat. The shocking messages included explicit threats of violence towards various individuals, with Moore stating he would harm anyone he came across. The messages, played in court, revealed Moore’s disturbing intentions, including using a Stanley knife to carry out his threats.
Moore confessed to making threats to kill and has a history of similar convictions, including a previous offence of harassment involving threats of violence towards a former partner. In his defence, it was stated that Moore turned to alcohol as a coping mechanism after experiencing a traumatic event.
During the sentencing at Cardiff Crown Court, Judge Simon Mills Esq condemned Moore’s behaviour as completely unacceptable and highlighted his record of domestic abuse. Moore was sentenced to 14 months in prison, with half the term to be served in custody and the remainder on licence upon release.
