I tried ‘LA’s scariest’ fitness class used by Meghan Markle and Kim Kardashian – it left me shaking from head to toe.
A new fitness craze has been sweeping through LA, favoured by celebrities like Meghan Markle, Kim Kardashian, and Jennifer Aniston. Lagree, a type of exercise class using a megaformer with spring-based resistance, promises an intense workout while being gentle on joints. Love Lagree, headed by Lorraine Jenkins in Cardiff Bay, offers this popular class that guarantees a challenging experience.
As a non-athlete, I ventured into my first Lagree class with trepidation. Surrounded by beginners, I eyed the intimidating machine, expecting to be launched off it. However, once on the megaformer, my fears dissipated as I found it surprisingly manageable. The workout commenced with a mix of core, arms, and leg exercises, pushing me to my limits and leaving me trembling with effort.
Lorraine, the instructor, guided us expertly through the routine, ensuring proper posture and technique. With minimal breaks between exercises, the intensity escalated, engaging all muscle groups extensively. Sweat poured as I squatted, stretched, and lunged in varied positions attached to the machine, testing my endurance.
The Lagree session provided a comprehensive full-body workout unlike my usual cardio routines, promising muscle soreness the next day. Although challenging, Lagree minimises joint impact, making it ideal for those seeking a thorough workout without high-impact activities. With my muscles fatigued but energised, I left the class feeling accomplished, hoping to awaken the next day resembling Kim Kardashian.
