Police in London are investigating an incident involving British journalist Ian Hislop, where his taxi was reportedly hit by a gunshot. The incident occurred while the vehicle was stationary in traffic in Soho, close to the Private Eye offices.
According to reports, a taxi driver claimed his window was damaged by a suspected gunshot while Hislop was inside the black cab. Fortunately, neither Hislop nor the driver sustained any injuries during the incident that took place at 10 am on Tuesday on Dean Street, near Oxford Street.
Authorities have closed off roads in the vicinity and are currently examining CCTV footage related to the incident. A police spokesman confirmed that they were alerted to a firearms discharge on Dean Street and have launched an investigation into the matter.
