Legendary Welsh music, stage, and screen entertainer Dewi ‘Pws’ Morris has sadly passed away at the age of 76. Known for his immense talent in music, acting, and writing, Dewi Pws was a beloved figure in Welsh TV and beyond. He rose to fame for his roles in various productions, including the iconic 1978 rugby film Grand Slam, where he portrayed the character of Glyn Lloyd-Evans.
Born Dewi Gray Morris in 1948 in Swansea, Dewi ‘Pws’ Morris was a natural entertainer who captivated audiences with his charisma and humour. He was a founding member of the renowned Welsh language rock band, Edward H. Dafis, and won the Can i Gymry competition in 1971 with ‘Nwy yn y Nen’. Additionally, he popularised the folk song ‘Lleucu Llwyd’, showcasing his musical prowess.
Throughout his career, Dewi ‘Pws’ Morris starred in popular soap operas like Pobol y Cwm and Rownd a Rownd, as well as various children’s programmes and Welsh comedies.
