A man has been charged with the murder of the wife and two daughters of BBC racing commentator John Hunt. Carol Hunt died along with her daughters Louise and Hannah in July at their suburban home in Bushey, Hertfordshire.
A man was detained shortly afterwards but at the time was said to be unable to be interviewed. On Tuesday, the Crown Prosecution Service said Kyle Clifford, 26, had now been charged with the murders of the three women.
Mrs. Hunt, the wife of BBC racing commentator John Hunt, and her daughters were attacked in their home in Bushey on July 9. Clifford was later arrested by police in Enfield. He has also been charged with two counts of possession of an offensive weapon and one count of false imprisonment. He is due to appear remotely at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday morning.
Lisa Ramsarran, chief crown prosecutor for CPS Thames and Chiltern, said: “Our thoughts remain with the Hunt family and all those who have been affected by this tragic incident. As criminal proceedings are active, there should be no reporting, commentary, or sharing of information online that could prejudice the defendant’s right to a fair trial.”
