According to the Met Office forecast, Wales can expect wet and windy conditions on Sunday, followed by mostly cloudy skies with showers on Monday. The warning highlights gusts of 50-55mph in some areas, particularly near coasts and high ground, potentially exceeding 60mph in exposed locations. Heavy rain is also expected, leading to surface water and spray.
The warning covers various locations in Wales, including Bridgend, Cardiff, Carmarthenshire, Gwynedd, Neath Port Talbot, Swansea, and more. As England faced disruption due to heavy rain and flooding, commuters encountered challenges on roads and rail services. The Met Office had issued an amber rain warning for parts of the Midlands and south of England, along with a yellow rain warning for several areas in England and Wales, which ended on Friday.
Meteorologist Greg Dewhurst highlighted localized flooding concerns, noting the already saturated ground from recent rainfall. While conditions are expected to improve slightly on Friday, disruptions are likely to continue, especially in central and southern areas. Travel plans on Friday should consider potential disruptions due to ongoing weather challenges.
