A heartbroken mother has shared her shock after her daughter tragically passed away from a rare brain bleed. Emma Parsons mourns the loss of her daughter, Anna Graves, aged 21, who died following a spontaneous subarachnoid haemorrhage, a type of stroke caused by bleeding on the brain. Anna was discovered unresponsive in her bedroom by a friend and was rushed to the hospital, where her life support was eventually turned off. Emma, aged 46, expresses her devastation over Anna’s sudden departure and the mystery behind the spontaneous brain bleed. Despite the tragic circumstances, Emma remains unaware of the cause, stating, “She was fine the last time anyone spoke to her in the morning at around 8am. The bleed is spontaneous, therefore there is no cause known.”
Anna, who worked with end-of-life patients, was found unresponsive at her father’s home in York on August 18 and later transferred to Hull Royal Infirmary, where she passed away the following day. Emma fondly remembers Anna as a loving daughter who cherished spending time with her family and caring for her pet snakes. She mentioned, “Our relationship was loving we have a close family and are not shy in sharing our emotions to each other… Anna loved to care for her snakes, cats, and dogs. She enjoyed her holidays with family and fiancé.”
In honour of Anna, the family has set up a Go Fund Me page to aid in covering the funeral expenses. Gratefully acknowledging the support received, Emma shared, “The donations will help us give Anna a funeral with her wishes in mind… We feel truly blessed to have so many lovely people around us. Their lovely words and messages we have received have really helped us all during this devastating time.”
The heartfelt tributes and generous contributions have brought comfort to Anna’s family amid their grief.
