A murder investigation has been launched after a devastating incident in which a father and his three young sons were found dead in Surrey. The tragic discovery occurred at a house in Bremer Road, Staines, where the bodies of Piotr Swiderski, 31, and his sons Dominik, Nikodem, and Kacper Swiderski, aged three, two, and two respectively, were found on August 31. The children’s mother, Angelika Swiderski, described them as “happy, active children, full of life and happiness.”
Surrey Police and Sussex Police Major Crime Team are treating the deaths of the children as murders. Despite the heartbreaking nature of the incident, authorities have stated they are not seeking anyone else in connection with the case. The Independent Office for Police Conduct was notified due to previous interactions with the family, but after review, no further investigation was deemed necessary earlier this week.
DCI Kimball Edey, the Senior Investigating Officer, extended condolences to the family and emphasized the need for privacy during this exceptionally challenging time. Inquests for the father and his three sons are scheduled to commence on September 10.
The tragic event has left the community in mourning as further details of the investigation are awaited. The family is receiving support from specialist officers as the authorities work to uncover the circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking incident.
