Plans have been unveiled for a potential windfarm near a Welsh beauty spot. The proposed project includes building four turbines east of Cwmcarn, with the turbines reaching heights of up to 180 metres. The location would be on grassland east of Abercarn and the A467, north of the Cwmcarn Forest scenic drive, a hidden gem in Wales.
Developers have sought opinions from Torfaen and Caerphilly Borough Councils regarding the need for an environmental assessment for the application, which also encompasses the associated infrastructure. Most of the land falls under the Caerphilly unitary authority area, except for a one-kilometre access track that would be shared with the proposed Mynydd Maen windfarm to the west of Cwmbran, also under consideration by PEDW.
