Police are renewing their appeal for a missing 23-year-old who disappeared after leaving a house party six months ago. Jack O’Sullivan was last seen on Saturday, March 2, while trying to get home. His mother, Catherine O’Sullivan, expressed the pain of not knowing his whereabouts, stating, “It’s so painful. Every day for me gets worse – it gets harder and harder.” Despite a widespread campaign and a £20,000 reward for information, Jack remains missing.
As six months pass since his disappearance, the police are seeking any new information that could aid in the investigation. Jack, from North Somerset, was last spotted walking on Bennett Way slip road around 3.38am on the night he went missing. Over 20 different Avon and Somerset teams have been involved in the search, supported by various agencies and services, including the fire and ambulance services, NPAS, RNLI, HM Coastguard, and search and digital experts.
Jack’s family has criticised the police for perceived failures and delays in locating him, leading to a formal complaint being filed. Avon and Somerset Police have conducted extensive searches, including reviewing over 100 hours of CCTV footage, carrying out 40 land searches, and deploying the drone unit 16 times. Despite nearly 100 public calls with possible sightings and eight media appeals, Jack’s whereabouts remain unknown.
Assistant Chief Constable Joanne Hall urges the public to check any footage they may have, such as Ring doorbell or dashcam recordings, that could provide crucial information. She emphasised the significance of even seemingly insignificant details, stating, “You genuinely could be the last piece of the jigsaw in our search for Jack.” The investigation continues, with police working tirelessly to uncover any leads that could shed light on Jack O’Sullivan’s disappearance.
