Former Page Three model Samantha Fox created a commotion on a British Airways flight, leading her to threaten a police officer and express aggressive behaviour towards flight staff on December 3, 2023. Appearing in Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court, the 58-year-old admitted to being drunk and disorderly, as well as using threatening behaviour towards the officer during the incident that prevented the London to Hamburg flight from departing.
According to the prosecutor, flight staff noticed Fox being argumentative and rude towards gate staff, showing signs of intoxication with slurred speech and erratic behaviour. After a confrontation with her wife, Linda Olsen, Fox was observed headbutting a seat before the decision was made to return the plane to the gate. Upon police intervention, Fox continued her confrontational behaviour, leading to her threatening the officer with violence and verbally abusing him.
During her court appearance, security footage revealed Fox making threats towards the officer and using inappropriate language. The officer detailed experiencing a prolonged period of abuse from Fox, who persistently insulted him and threatened legal action. Despite initially denying assaulting her wife, the charge was dropped due to changes in evidence.
Fox’s defence attorney stated she had bought drinks at the airport to calm her anxiety, triggered by severe stress and physical discomfort. Her actions caused the flight to be delayed by 12 hours, resulting in financial losses for British Airways. Fox apologised for the incident, citing her mental health conditions as contributing factors.
The sentencing for Fox, also known as Samantha Olson Fox, is scheduled for Monday afternoon. Known for her career as a model and pop singer, Fox rose to fame in the 1980s with hits like “Touch Me (I Want Your Body)” and “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Me Now”. The court proceedings shed light on a troubling incident involving a public figure that escalated due to alcohol consumption and emotional distress.
